Behaviour Aide Services
Personalized, Compassionate Support for Children and Youth
At Root and Grow Services, our Behaviour Aide program offers one-on-one, hands-on support for children and youth who require assistance in managing behaviours, emotional regulation, and social interaction. Behaviour Aides work directly with the child in their home, school, or community settings to help reinforce positive behaviours and reduce challenges that may be impacting daily life.
Our aides follow individualized strategies created in collaboration with caregivers, therapists, and behaviour consultants. We believe that all behaviour is a form of communication, and we strive to understand and respond to each child’s unique needs with empathy, consistency, and care.
We have extensive experience working with neurodivergent children, including those with:
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Developmental delays
Emotional and behavioural challenges
Anxiety, OCD, and sensory processing differences
Our Approach
Our Behaviour Aides focus on building meaningful, trusting relationships. We know that growth happens when children feel safe, supported, and respected. Our services are rooted in a person-centered, strengths-based approach, with the goal of helping each child gain skills, confidence, and independence.
Support may include:
Implementing behaviour intervention or support plans
Supporting communication, transitions, and routine development
Coaching emotional regulation and coping strategies
Implement strategies from OT, PT, Psychologist, SLP and other services
Encouraging social skill building through play and structured activities
Promoting life skills such as dressing, hygiene, and following instructions
Working toward goals set in coordination with families and professionals
We regularly communicate with families and service teams to ensure consistency, progress, and alignment with broader goals.
